Cedar Rapids Flood 08 - House flooding
Woke to a really heavy rain storm this morning. The power went out. That meant the sump pump stopped. Water coming into the basement. With no power in the house, I decided to take a walk out on the golf course to see where all the water was coming from.

Barefoot in the rain, guessing it aint too cold. But then again you are a canuck, cold is a different ball game to you guys.
That little minnow will be swimming in your basement by the time you get back.
all kidding aside, it looks miserable. Really hope you can get your basement pumped and avoid any damage. And not have to evacuate, you just tweeted its raining again. Good luck man, and to all of you down there.

Geeeez… unbelievable. I can’t believe you’re finding fish, too. Hope you manage to escape without too much damage.

We’re doing what we can to keep the house dry. Running water in the basement through the windows and walls. It’s a losing battle I fear

Just catching up. Watching your flood videos back to back. Biblical deluge. And tornadoes warnings, too! Oh my. What a mix. Hoping things dry out sooner rather than later.

I used to live in Cedar Rapids, high on a hill! It is freaky to me to see all the pictures and recognize the places, though I don’t recognize the area of this yard. Best of Luck to you all.
