@iconjohn Thanks :) Strictly tape to tape linear right now. I’ll be editing on Avid systems that are coming in the near future.

Thanks Robert! It certainly has been a learning experience in my short time there.

Congratulations and best of luck at the new gig. Hope it goes well for you. I was happy to hear that your supervisor at Mediacom was decent about everything. You have to go after your dream gig, but I’m sure a part of you cringed just a little bit at leaving with no notice. That said onward and upward!

  7. Congrats again! You are so awesome - what a great story! And I’m so jealous that you are working at the old WMT tv station. I remember going there as a little girl to be on Dr. Max and Mombo. So cool!

Trying to fathom the symbolism of going from installing TV to editing it. While vlogging the transition. I don’t know… it feels kinda deep somehow. And I haven’t even been smoking.
Great that your supervisor was cool about it.
It’s all too cool. At last! Hurray!

  23. Ok, so I am a little late to the party, but HUZZAH all the same! That is so cool, and doubly so if it came out of vlogging. That just proves all the more that this stuff is for “real” (but we already knew that).

Unless I’ve missed prior tweets/posts…I am curious, how did it play out? How did they find you?

  24. Also, I can’t believe you’re using linear tape to tape to edit! I didn’t think anyone still did that. How is it?

Back in 2002 I edited a few short films on a Steinbeck flatbed…actually splicing and taping film together. I’m really glad that I got to do that, just to have that grounding in a lost art form.
