Morning Song

July 18 2008 »

I shot this at 5am. Once the Morning News goes on the air, I take a walk outside to get some fresh air. This is the best time of my day.

    YEAH BABY!

When I was in London, waking up unintentionally at dawn was all wrong. I used to think that those people who said it was the best part of the day should all be killed.

Now if I wake up early, it’s a totally different experience. If I have to get up to answer a call of nature, I find myself standing on the balcony *listening* to the call of nature and watching the light glow over the coast mountains.

Where else do you get these things recorded? Nowhere. Respect to you for taking your phone with you and seeing/hearing the point in recording and sharing this.

    lovely,

funny thing is right about that time you go for a walk is about when I’m going to bed. I’ll think of you tonight, of you going for that peaceful walk as I lay down my weary head

Thank you. I needed to hear that. It reminds me of when I used to be up before dawn with a baby.

I like that early mornings but only if they are without human made sounds (voices, cars or anything artificial) - then I can, kind of, imagine what people heard centuries ago, while standind in that same spot.
Nice scene, nice idea, nice reminder… thanks.
